Our Last Event
85 nominations spread out over 5 divisions pulled in through the gates at the Make Smoking History Collie Speedway for the Annual Christmas Cup and Teams Challenge event.
Racing was hard and fast all night and the track took some getting used to for many drivers. Early on in the night the Juniors were the first division to hit the track finding conditions a little to greasy but soon found there feet.
Street Stock and Productions both arrived with large fields and the racing was hard and very fast. The locals were really taking to the visitors and showing them the best way around the collie clayway. However a spectacular rollover for Mark Mcdonald in the Street Stock feature bought an early finish to there race.
Modified Sedans arrived with big numbers and racing was also fast and flat out, a scary moment for Luke Fraser in the Heats with a massive bicycle in turns 3 and 4 ended his night prematurely. Laurie Dowset from Albany would be the winner from Bunbury's Mick Hamon and current state champ Brandon Fraser.
The ground pounding Super Sedans also graced the collie track in their only visit to collie this season. racing was close all night and current state champ Gary "Dusty" Higgs would win the feature.
